Congratulations to our 2010 MASEA Student Employee of the Year

Each spring, the National Student Employment Association (NSEA) coordinates a National Student Employee of the Year program to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who work while attending college. The process begins at the institutional level. Supervisors may nominate an outstanding employee for their institutions student employee of the year. Then, any institution who is a member of MASEA and/or NSEA may submit their student employee of the year for State, Regional and National consideration. Eligible Students:
All students employed through the Student Employment Program of institutions with at least one member of MASEA and/or NSEA. This may include students working off campus in community service or tutoring programs at the institution’s discretion. Resident Advisors, Graduate Assistants and Teaching Assistants are not eligible, unless they are employed through the Student Employment Program. Eligible Terms of Employment
Students must have been employed for a minimum of 3 months full-time or 6 months part-time between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010 (anticipated). Selection Criteria
Students will be evaluated on the following qualities: - Reliability
- Quality of Work
- Initiative
- Professionalism
- Uniqueness of Contribution
(In case of a tie, uniqueness of contribution will be the deciding factor.)
Timeline Dec 1, 2010 - Regional Coordinators distribute announcement and application materials to their members and NSEA members in their region. Feb 15, 2010 - Campus nominations due to Student Employment Office Mar 17, 2010 - Regional winners submitted to NSEA's Vice President for Membership Services. March 22-26, 2010 - National Student Employee of the Year selected and winner's school notified by NSEA President. April 11-17, 2010 - National Student Employment Week Awards
- Each campus winner will receive a certificate and congratulatory letter from MASEA
- State winners will receive a certificate and check for $75.00
- The MASEA regional winner will receive a plaque and a check for $150.00
- The MASEA winner will be submitted for the NSEA Student Employee of the Year Program.
