Enhancing Supervisor Support: Insights from Working Learners and Supervisors
Is how we're supervising working learners actually working? Are we even prepared to supervise them? Delve into the latest research on working learner supervisors related to how they can best support students and the training gaps they experience in their education and professional development. The session will present findings from a comprehensive study that assessed student perceptions of supervisor support using a new Student Supervisor Support Measure, alongside an evaluation of supervisory training in higher education master's programs. Attendees will learn how to foster more supportive student-supervisor relationships and actionable steps to advance both personal and systemic improvements in supervisory practices. This interactive session will provide opportunities to share experiences and develop strategies for creating a more supportive and effective environment for working learners.
