"Racing to Success"
(Student Employment Essentials Training: June 8 and 9)
Join us for two and a half days of workshops and networking at the beautiful Brown Hotel in downtown Louisville, Ky. Our keynote speaker will be Teri Schnelle, Associate Director for Assessment & Strategic Initiatives at the University of Iowa. Teri will outline the Iowa GROW® (Guided Reflection on Work) initiative, which uses brief, structured conversations between student employees and their supervisors to help students connect the skills and knowledge they are gaining in the classroom with the work they are doing, and vice versa. Iowa GROW® is a nationally recognized program focused on making student employment a "high-impact activity" Teri will also be presenting a general session on June 10.
Friday, June 12, Dr. Kara Parker, Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Findlay, will host an interactive workshop on Collaborative Intelligence: How to Build Strength-Based Connections. During this session, Dr. Parker will discuss personalized style, how styles significantly impacts how we relate to others and how we can learn to reshape our collaborative processes. Dr. Parker teaches courses on research, diversity, and collaboration in both the Master’s and Doctorate of Education programs at the University of Findlay.
