History
The Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators (MASEA) is a non-profit, professional organization comprised of administrators and counselors from post-secondary institutions who are involved in securing employment opportunities for students.
Fourteen states make up the Midwest region: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

History of MASEA
(Taken from the NSEA Almanac, Published 2000)In March of 1961 a group of professionals, headed by John Griffin from the University of Illinois, Urbana, formally created the Midwest Association of University Student Employment Directors (MAUSED). In 1975, the name was changed to the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators (MASEA). This name change was coincident with convening the national First Annual Convention on Work and the College Student at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, IL in 1975.
By 1978, MASEA had been joined by three other newly formed regional associations, Northeast (NASEA), Southern (SASEA), and Western (WASEA). Each regional association has held annual conferences since its founding, sometimes in conjunction with or jointly with the national conference when held in its region.
